Donor Tiles and Pavers

Clayworks tiles bearing the names of individuals who support theaters, universities, churches, parks and other projects make a superb building material as well as an effective fundraising incentive. Pavers are handmade and inscriptions are handlettered. Gas fired to a temperature high enough to protect against weathering, they are suitable for walkways or walls, indoors or out. We can provide a brochure form for soliciting orders for a typical project, and we will also be glad to suggest ways to distinguish major donors, including custom logos and glazing. Individual commemorative tiles are another effective incentive for donors.

To begin
production for your order we will need the following:
- A
purchase order specifying quantity, size, price, and clay color of your
tiles.
- A
deposit for 50% of the order, with the balance due upon completion.
- Names
list typed in the format we provide.
INSTALLING
CLAYWORKS INSCRIBED PAVERS
Clayworks
inscribed tiles are high fired clay pavers. The character of handmade
tiles must be taken into consideration. Allowing variation in the
recommended one-half inch grout lines should cover differences in size
and thickness inherent in all handmade tiles. Pavers are a nominal
5/8 in. thick, and wall tiles are 3/8 in. thick.
The most common
method of installation is with dry set mortar or latex Portland cement
mortar, commonly known as thin set. Tiles should be set onto a properly
prepared and cured Portland cement mortar bed. It is best to lay
out the tile pattern and adjust the grout lines before cementing the tiles
into place.
A decision
schould be made as to whether the names should be free of grout or filled
in with grout. If it is decided that the inscription is to be left
ungrouted, the tiles should be covered with masking tape.
